Case study
Flood Marine ecommerce platform
A custom WordPress and WooCommerce store that turns a complex marine catalogue into clear product journeys across boats, outboards, parts and accessories.

Flood Marine Services is a family-run marine dealership in Omagh, serving boat owners across the UK and Ireland since 1973. Its catalogue spans complete boats, Yamaha and Torqeedo outboards, genuine parts, trailers, electronics, chandlery and workshop services.
A specialist catalogue with real-world complexity
This was never going to be a conventional brochure site. Flood Marine manages thousands of highly specific products across deep category trees, with customers ranging from experienced skippers searching by model or SKU to first-time buyers who need straightforward guidance from a real person.
The brief was to turn that complexity into a clear ecommerce experience while retaining the authority, product knowledge and personal service the business has built over more than five decades.

What I built
I designed and developed a custom WordPress and WooCommerce platform around Flood Marine’s actual catalogue and sales workflow—not a generic retail template.
- A scalable product-management structure for boats, outboards, parts, electronics, chandlery and trailers.
- Deep category navigation supported by keyword, SKU and price filtering.
- Purpose-built landing pages for key ranges including Yamaha outboards, Whaly boats and Terhi boats.
- Clear product pages combining imagery, VAT-inclusive pricing, specifications, delivery information and expert-support prompts.
- A package-builder journey for customers assembling a complete boat setup.
- Prominent routes into servicing, the physical showroom and direct contact with the Flood Marine team.
- A responsive interface designed to keep complex buying journeys usable on smaller screens.

A brand experience built around trust
The visual direction uses Flood Marine’s black, white and red identity with bold typography and marine product photography. The result feels purposeful and specialist while making important actions—browse, compare, enquire, reserve and buy—easy to find.

Designed for customers on the move
Many customers arrive while researching a part, comparing an engine or planning a boat purchase away from a desk. The responsive experience preserves the catalogue hierarchy and strong calls to action without overwhelming a smaller screen.

Client feedback
“Having been referred by a family member, Damian developed a complicated product management solution for us. He followed our requirements to the T, but advised us appropriately when necessary without sticking the arm in.”

The result
Flood Marine now has one coherent digital storefront that reflects the breadth of its inventory and the credibility of a dealership operating since 1973. Complex catalogue information is organised into clearer customer journeys, while expert advice remains visible whenever a purchase needs a conversation.
