The challenge
Pedro Pet Foods serves everyone from individual pet owners ordering a single bag to retailers and farms buying full pallet loads. The new store had to make a broad dog, cat and bird food range easy to shop, calculate fair delivery for heavy sacks across several regions, and give an established family brand a modern presence without losing its friendly, practical character.
My approach
I designed and developed the experience around the decisions customers actually make: the animal they feed, the right recipe, the quantity they need and where it has to go. Bold use of Pedro’s existing character and colours makes the storefront distinctive, while clear product information, upfront delivery guidance and separate retail and trade routes keep a complex operation easy to understand.
What I delivered
A bespoke responsive WordPress and WooCommerce theme built around Pedro’s established visual identity.
Clear catalogue journeys for dog, cat and bird food, supported by search, featured ranges and best sellers.
Detailed product pages with pack size, VAT-inclusive pricing, stock, quantity controls, nutrition information, verified-purchaser reviews and related products.
Custom parcel-weight delivery rules for mainland Britain, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, including service-area restrictions and clear delivery times.
Distinct routes for direct-to-door orders, trade pricing, pallet loads and wholesale enquiries.
Account, basket, secure-checkout and privacy-consent journeys designed as part of the same coherent experience.
Results
A clearer, more capable platform built around the business and its customers.
Outcome 1
Pedro now has one coherent storefront for its product range, family story and UK-and-Ireland distribution service.
Outcome 2
Customers can understand delivery costs and timings before checkout, even when an order spans several heavy parcels.
Outcome 3
The platform supports direct consumer sales and larger trade conversations without making either audience work around the other.
